HOMEOWNERS BUILDING PLANS

The Clerk and Building Inspector's offices have been working
to clean up the Building Permit files.
-
All of the building plans older than two years have been
pulled from the files. We would like to distribute them to the homeowners,
rather than destroying them. However, we are finding that we have plans
going back about 12 years. Anything older that than either was not kept
or taken back by the builder, homeowner, or previous owner.

Please call the Clerk's Office tax key number is on the list
of available plans for pickup.
The Town of Vernon Building Inspector inspects all Building, Plumbing,
Electrical, Heating, Venting & Air Conditioning (HVAC) work that is done in the
Town.
PLEASE NOTE:
BUILDING, ELECTRICAL, PLUMING & HVAC PERMITS ARE NOT
AVAILABLE ONLINE BECAUSE THEY ARE MULTIPLE PART FORMS

Permit - Construction Activities:

A
Zoning Permit is required when a structure or part thereof is located, erected, moved,
reconstructed, extended, enlarged, converted or structurally altered in the Towns of Genesee,
Oconomowoc, Ottawa or Vernon; or the shoreland/floodland areas (generally within 1,000 feet of a
lake or 300 feet of a stream) in the Towns of Brookfield, Delafield, Eagle, Lisbon, Merton,
Mukwonago, Summit or Waukesha.
You
may need a Preliminary Site Evaluation for impact on your well and septic system or a Construction
Erosion Control Permit to prevent sediment from leaving your site.

permit is necessary when constructing a new Shoreline Stabilization Structure (rip-rap seawall) or
repairing an existing structure on the shore of any lake, pond, river or stream in the County.

A
permit is necessary for land altering activities or projects of less than 3000 square feet in area
and/or 15 cubic yards within 1000 feet of a lake or pond, or 300 feet of a river or stream.
