COMMITTEE PURPOSE

The Town of Vernon Water Monitoring Committee was established in recognition of the fact that the entire water supply needs of the residents and businesses in the Town are met by using natural groundwater resources.  Increasing population and continuing development of this area of Waukesha County has increased demand upon these groundwater resources, necessitating a better understanding of the limitations of the area groundwater supplies.  The Committee will undertake the monitoring of ground water levels in a representative network of wells to establish a record of current trends in groundwater levels.  The records will provide a factual basis on which to make informed decisions on development and provide a baseline which the Town can use to demonstrate any adverse changes to our groundwater supply.
